Mövenpick secures New City-Resort Kuwait deal
Swiss-based hotel chain Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts (MH&R) is set to manage its second property in Kuwait.
The proposed five-star hotel – Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bidaa Kuwait – will comprise 308 bedrooms and 14 villas on a 40,000sq m (430,500sq m) plot.
Leisure activities will include six outdoor and one indoor swimming pool, three squash courts and a children’s club as well as a private beach and a 900sq m (9,700sq ft) spa, health and fitness centre.
Conference and banqueting facilities will include three meeting rooms for up to 100 people, a business centre and a ballroom.
Dining experiences will include a main restaurant and a speciality restaurant called Fish Market.
Bahrain-based Alargan International Real Estate will own the resort, which is scheduled to open at the end of the year.
The move is part of Mövenpick’s strategic growth plans in the Middle East and its commitment to developing tourism in Kuwait.
