Mercure unveils revamped Letchworth property
Mercure, the hotel operator owned by France-based Accor, has reopened its Letchworth Hall Hotel property in Hertfordshire, following the completion of a major £1m refurbishment.
All 85 bedrooms have been revamped as part of the scheme to transform the property into a four-star hotel, while retaining the 385-year-old country house's original features. Letchworth Hall Hotel's reception area has been redesigned to feature a new front desk and a designated business space, while the property's Great Hall has benefited from work to restore features, such as the Jacobean fireplace. Work has also been carried out to overhaul the restaurant.
Facilities at the hotel include a purpose-built conference and meetings space, which can accommodate 240 delegates, a number of function rooms, a 20m indoor swimming pool, two relaxation and beauty rooms, a gym, and a sauna and steamroom. Fairview Hotels and Healthcare Group owns and operates the hotel. Director of operations Neil Forbes said: "Mercure Letchworth Hall is the first franchise agreement that Accor has signed with Fairview Hotels and there are plans for further projects in the future."
