Lucky Voice has announced that it is planning a full international roll-out of its karaoke bar concept to add to its existing portfolio of four sites in London, Manchester and Cardiff.
The chain, launched by lastminute.com founder, Martha Lane Fox, opened its most recent karaoke bar in Islington, London, in August 2008, a 4,000sq ft (372sq m) venue with a capacity of 240 people.
London sites (Islington and Soho) are owned by Lucky Voice, while the Manchester venue is held under a leasing/licensing agreement. The Cardiff bar is operated as a standard franchise operation.
In May 2007, Lucky Voice also teamed up with the nightclub owner and operator, Novus Leisure, to install eight private singing pods at Tiger Tiger in Manchester. Bill Dunmore of Maxwell Winward said that it is a relationship Lucky Voice is hoping to continue.
"The installation of pods at Tiger Tiger in Manchester has worked well, as has the franchising relationship," said Dunmore. "This relationship is something the company would like to repeat with the roll out of self-owned and franchised venues on a national and international level."
