Les Mills new VIRTUAL platform arrives
FitboxVirtual has launched a technology platform for health clubs which allows members to work out in front of movie-like versions of Les Mills classes, raising the bar with virtual workouts.
The classes can either be set up to play automatically, via a weekly virtual class timetable, or members can be given the freedom of choosing their own class, via a touchscreen, whenever the studio is vacant.
As well as giving members the chance to build confidence in a quiet studio, it benefits the operator by allowing classes to be run during off peak hours when it wouldn’t be viable to employ an instructor.
Andy Pitman MD of FitboxVirtual, says this gives clubs the opportunity to become more innovative: “By joining forces with Les Mills we have created a really innovative product which will significantly benefit clubs and their members.”
New Zealand company, Les Mills International, is the creator of 13 global group fitness and team training programmes, used by 16,000 clubs around the world.
In trials conducted by Les Mills, 92 per cent of participants said they enjoyed the convenience of doing a virtual class when it suited them and 89 per cent said they were interested in trying a live class after building confidence with the virtual programme.
