'Lack of support' stumps Howard's ICC bid
Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket have been invited to put forward a new candidate for International Cricket Council (ICC) vice president after John Howard's nomination was rebuffed.
The ICC Executive Board confirmed the nomination of John Howard had not received "sufficient support", with the two national governing bodies now set to put forward a new candidate by 31 August. Under the ICC's regional rotation policy for the vice presidency, both Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket have the opportunity to put forward a candidate for the role between 2010-12.
