Kinnordy Estate in Angus, Scotland, has secured funding from the Forestry Commission to carry out improvements in Caddam Wood and Kate’s Wood.
Access to the woods will be improved to adhere to new regulations introduced by the Land Reform (Scotland) Act last year, which maintains that the public must be given rights of way to all woodland.
In addition, felled areas will be replanted with mixed woodland and additional fencing erected within the wood to identify areas unsuitable for riding but available to walkers.
The fencing will create a circular bridle route round the wood with a parallel walking route. Construction of the path will start shortly. Details: www.angus.gov.uk
