Jackie Skelly continues Irish expansion
Irish health and fitness club chain Jackie Skelly Fitness is to invest 3m euros (£2m) in a new 30,000sq ft (2,800sq m) centre in Navan, Co Meath.
The facility, due to open next summer, will feature a 20m swimming pool, a children’s pool and a 10,000sq ft (930sq m) gym with more than 150 pieces of equipment and physical therapy and massage areas. There will also be separate health spa areas for men and women including saunas, spa pools and steamrooms.
The company is also currently expanding and refurbishing its original Clarendon Street facility, which is expected to be the largest fitness centre in the city of Dublin when it opens in January.
“The opening of Jackie Skelly Fitness in Navan and the refurbishment of Clarendon Street are major parts of our development strategy,” said Mark Tooke, director.
“Our investment in both will result in Jackie Skelly Fitness becoming the leading Irish fitness brand in the marketplace.
“Our research shows that Jackie Skelly Fitness is well placed to continue to grow despite the continuing intensification of competition in this sector. We plan to continue to develop the business over the next three years and are currently examining a number of additional suitable locations in the greater Dublin and Leinster regions.”
