InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has created two new senior positions.
Nina Bibby has been appointed senior vice president of worldwide brand management and Stephen Powell has taken up the new position of senior vice president of worldwide sales.
Bibby formerly held numerous positions at Diageo, including global brand director of the Reserve Brands Group and, most recently, commercial strategy director.
Powell was promoted from his IHG role as senior vice president, sales and marketing of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Bibby said: “IHG is a truly global company with a clear direction and a stable of world-class brands. I look forward to contributing to the company’s continuing growth worldwide by developing our brands with a focus on extensive customer insight.”
Powell said: “I am delighted to accept this new role and will work with our strong regional sales and brand teams to ensure a consistent and innovative approach in how we deal with our customers as we drive forward with our ambition to become one of the very best companies in the world.”
Peter Gowers, IHG chief marketing officer, added: “Our global customers increasingly look to us to provide multi-brand, multi-country solutions to their travel needs. They also want their views clearly heard when it comes to designing our brands and simplifying the way we do business. These appointments will further our efforts to bring our customers into the development process of our brands and to make IHG the easiest hotel company with whom to do business.”
