Hartford back in black despite sales glitch

Despite stagnating sales, London-based bar and restaurant operator Hartford Group reported pre-tax profits of £445,000 for the year ending 25 September 2004 – up from a loss of £637,000 in 2003.
Like for like sales at its 12 City of London bars fell 2.8 per cent but the effects were offset by a 4 per cent increase in sales at its nine bars located outside the capital’s financial district.
Hartford operates the Jamie’s Bars chain as well as the Canyon restaurant at Richmond Riverside.
