Glamorgan CCC reports £366,000 annual loss
Glamorgan County Cricket Club has confirmed that it has made its first loss in four years after reporting a £366,000 deficit in 2010.
According to the club, staging two Twenty20 matches between England and Pakistan in the wake of the spot-fixing controversy had impacted on its trading for the 12-month period. GCCC chief executive Alan Hamer said: "If you exclude the two England v Pakistan Twenty20 internationals, our 2010 trading performance was in line with our initial forecasts."
The club also reported a 2 per cent year-on-year increase in turnover, while operating profit stood at more than £1m for the second successive year. It follows a turbulent winter for the county cricket side, which saw its president, coach and captain resign amid personnel changes on and off the field.
