Greenwich Leisure (GLL) has rolled out the children’s lifesaving programme Rookie Lifeguard to 11 of its centres, with plans to introduce the initiative into further facilities throughout 2009.
The Royal Life Saving Society launched the new Rookie Lifeguard programme earlier this year and is working in partnership with the Amateur Swimming Association on the National Plan for Teaching Swimming.

It is also an opportunity to create awareness and pre-train pupils in the biggest area of our workforce.” Details: www.lifesavers.org.uk/rookie
