Discover Canolfan Pentre Awel: A Beacon of Innovation and Opportunity

Canolfan Pentre Awel is set to redefine the landscape of Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, with its revolutionary 83-acre development. This pioneering project is the first of its kind in Wales, integrating leisure, business, health, research, education, assisted living, and hotel facilities into one harmonious location. Spearheaded by Carmarthenshire County Council, Canolfan Pentre Awel is a collaborative effort involving Hywel Dda University Health Board, Swansea University and other further and higher education partners.

Actif Sport and Leisure: Canolfan Pentre Awel

Scheduled for completion in spring 2025, Canolfan Pentre Awel will be the epicentre of leisure and community wellbeing. The state-of-the-art leisure centre will feature a 600-square-metre fitness suite, equipped with the latest premium commercial strength, cardio, and functional fitness equipment provided by Precor and partners Rent Gym.

This fitness suite offers an enhanced experience with Chromecast technology, which allows exercisers to easily connect their phone to the Precor cardio consoles and watch their favourite streaming app on the big screen, and EGYM’s innovative customer journey, tailored to individual health and wellbeing needs.

For those passionate about group activities, Canolfan Pentre Awel boasts a purpose-built dance studio, a spin room with Keiser Bikes, and multipurpose rooms designed for both in-person and virtual activities. Adjacent to these facilities is an 8-court sports hall with sprung wood flooring, catering to a complete range of sporting options. Young visitors will be thrilled by the interactive adventure play inflatables taking fun activity to new heights.

Aquatics excellence

The aquatic facilities at Canolfan Pentre Awel are fantastic; featuring a 25-metre, 8-lane competition pool, a teaching pool and a bespoke hydrotherapy pool, the facilities cater for everyone from health patients to top-level competitors.

For added excitement, the pool area includes the Atlantis interactive adventure play structures, perfect for family fun sessions. The hydrotherapy pool offers NHS patients a state-of-the-art supported service during clinical hours and is available to the public, clubs/organisations and other health providers outside these hours.

Social hub and culinary delights

At the heart of Canolfan Pentre Awel will be a vibrant new catering service, designed to be the social hub for visitors.
