A meeting of the Mendip District Council’s licensing sub committee decided that the owners of Level One in Frome should close the venue for three months due to concerns over public safety, crime and disorder and public nuisance.
The council also imposed a list of conditions to improve standards at the nightclub which have to be met before the club can reopen.
The Licensing Act 2005 gives council’s more power to counteract anti-social behaviour at licensed premises.
