A £650,000 extension of the existing gym will create a further 178sq m (1,915sq ft) of floor space, to provide members with more equipment.
In addition, a new studio and separate children’s gym will be built to increase the range of classes and courses available.
Managing director Nick Taplin said: “The new studio and gym extension will provide a lot more space for our members to enjoy the facilities.
“The children’s gym will provide a facility previously unavailable in the area and will complement the club’s links with a local medical centre which promotes healthy lifestyles for children and adults.”
