COMO Shambhala, the holistic health division of Christina Ong’s COMO Group, has opened its first spa for a third-party operator in the Maldives.
The COMO Shambhala Spa at the 160-villa Kandooma Resort – owned by Hotel Properties Limited (HPL) – is the company’s first foray into the contract management business.
Designed by Singaporean architect Katherine Kng, the two-storey facility has six single treatment rooms and two treatment villas. There is also a gym, changing rooms, steamrooms, hydropool and boutique. The menu offers Asian-inspired treatments.
Another COMO Shambhala-managed spa is now planned for a high-end resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 2010.
COMO Shambhala has seven spas within COMO Hotels and Resorts, as well as a private-label product range and a clothing collection.
