BH Live launches FeelGood Factory at Pelhams Park Leisure Centre

BH Live, the leisure and cultural trust which manages and operates Pelhams Park Leisure Centre, is making a significant investment in state of the art fitness equipment and in March will be opening a new exercise and toning studio called the 'FeelGood Factory' with 12 power assisted toning tables and chairs.

The FeelGood Factory, which will be located inside Pelhams Park Leisure Centre, will provide customers with a proven fitness formula of supported movement and exercise on power assisted toning tables and chairs in a relaxing environment - a concept which already successfully operates in leisure facilities all around the world.

The new facility will be open to all and particularly suited to female customers who prefer small group exercise classes in a women only environment to achieve inch loss, tone up and feel fantastic rather than using a traditional fitness gym.

Irrespective of age, mobility, weight or fitness level the toning tables and chairs will also be suitable for customers with specific conditions affecting mobility and strength including multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, stroke after effects, back pain, myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), arthritis and people with joint replacements.

The new activity will be available on a twelve month membership basis for £29.99 per month with no joining fee and FeelGood Factory sessions will last for 30 minutes, providing customers with an effective power assisted workout to exercise all the major muscle groups and to suit the individual's abilities.

Gaynor Hawkett, Pelhams Park Leisure Centre Manager said: "We know that one size does not fit all with physical activity and we need to make sure that we reach out to our local community who may feel that a gym session, swim or exercise class is simply just too overwhelming or daunting for them to consider. For this reason, our new FeelGood Factory is specifically aimed at people who aren't attracted to a traditional gym environment but would like a gentler, yet still effective, introduction to exercise. We will be offering ladies only sessions, which have proven to be very popular in other leisure facilities and in addition, we will be working with local clubs and partners to provide mixed sessions. We have already had lots of interest from existing customers and the local community, so I am sure the new facility will be a great success.

She added: "Because of the 'work smarter not harder' philosophy, there will be no need for any special clothes, shoes or even a shower afterwards making it the perfect activity for a person with a busy lifestyle or limited time."

Peter Gunn, Chief Executive for BH Live added; "BH Live is investing in several new projects to reach out, inspire and encourage our community to take part in physical activity. This most recent investment at Pelhams Park Leisure Centre in particular, aims to breakdown some of the barriers to enjoying exercise and encourage customers of all abilities to experience the benefits of physical activity."

The FeelGood Factory at Pelhams Park Leisure Centre will be open to the public for a preview weekend and trial sessions, subject to availability, on 3rd & 4th March between 10am and 5pm on each day and will officially open for business on Monday 5th March.
