Aromatherapy Associates' new skincare range to champion mind and skin connection

Spa at Home was a concept we originally created during the pandemic

Aromatherapy Associates is preparing to unveil a brand new 11-piece skincare collection

accompanied by three facial treatments on 28 April.

Designed to restore balance to both mind and skin, the Aromatherapy Associates Skincare line is a major launch for the B-Corp brand and has been in the works for three years. The range will feature a balm, mist, serum, mask and exfoliator, as well as four facial oils and two moisturisers.

For Aromatherapy Associates, the line is viewed not just as something functional but as an opportunity to demonstrate self-care through nurturing touch.

The brand’s global director of education and wellness Christina Salcedas explained that the capsule collection is backed by psychodermatology – a rapidly evolving discipline in psychosomatic medicine, which shows that our mind and skin are inextricably linked.

According to the company, the range can instil calm, and so tame the stress signals the brain sends to the skin.

IngredientsThe collection is powered by a proprietary skincare complex, BioActiveTM. This includes:

Essential oils such as blue tansy to repair and calm the skin and relieve stress; sandalwood to calm the mind; and jasmine to calm and condition the skin as well as to restore a sense of euphoria.

Active botanicals including squalane to strengthen the skin barrier and upcycled raspberry seed oil to promote cell regeneration.

Skin stress relief technology harnesses the anti-anxiety and anti-ageing effects of pink rock rose, which has been shown to bio-mimic the effects of meditation by blocking stress receptors and stalling proinflammatory cytokine production. Additionally, pink algae extract adapts to solar stress and improves skin elasticity and skin texture.

“We’ve created a new category in skincare that’s truly groundbreaking, a line-up of highly effective and hardworking products for the mind and skin, supported by almost 40 years of expertise in spa and aromatherapy,” said India Plumbly, global marketing and digital director at Aromatherapy Associates.

“As a pioneer in the field, we’re uniquely qualified to provide top-to-toe holistic wellness and we’re proud in equal measure of the effectiveness, quality of ingredients and sustainability credentials that make the range good for both people and the planet.”

All-new branded treatments

To showcase the new collection, Aromatherapy Associates will launch three new spa facials designed to support skin, body and mind.

The brand’s in-house team of therapists joined forces with a psychodermatologist, dermatologist, award-winning facialist, breath coach and advanced massage therapist to follow in its founders’ footsteps to create holistic facials that focus on lowering stress levels in the body and encourage a full reset and repair for mind and skin.
