Adelaide Wildlife Trail launches new visitor guide
By Helen Patenall
South Australian zoos, sanctuaries, parks and wildlife attractions have joined forces to launch a new visitor guide for the Adelaide Wildlife Trail.
The trail was launched in 2003 to offer visitors close-up and memorable experiences with animals. It includes Adelaide Zoo, Cleland Wildlife Park, Gorge Wildlife Park, Monarto Zoological Park, Rodney Fox Shark Experience, SA Whale Centre, Temptation Sailing – Dolphin Swim, Urimbirra Wildlife Experience and Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary.
The ‘new look’ guide aims to increase awareness of wildlife attractions within one hour’s proximity of Adelaide and to harness an appreciation of the natural diversity of tourism in South Australia.
Visitor information centres have distributed 70,000 brochures.
Andrew Brown from Zoos South Australia said: “Being able to experience the wealth of South Australia’s unique natural assets through visiting the many attractions of the trail will secure the state as one of the few places in Australia offering up-close experiences with such amazing animals.”
