Buckinghamshire-based Activity World has announced a major restructuring of its indoor adventure playground operations.
The number of sites under its operation has been reduced from 10 to just one.
Activity World plans to retain its Peterborough site, which has been closed for refurbishment, while the Hatfield site has been sold to Topsy Turvy and three further sites have been closed or returned to the respective landlord.
Five franchises using the company’s name have been given the choice of either changing their names or running under the same banner independently.
MD Mike Boyle said: “The play industry has changed dramatically over the last three to four years and it is much harder to make it pay. We are therefore concentrating on the Peterborough site by updating the facilities to create a modern party centre.” Details: www.activityworld.co.uk
