ACE launches sleep coaching course with The Online Sleep Coach
The American Council on Exercise (ACE) and Nick Lambe, The Online Sleep Coach, have collaborated to launch the Sleep and Recovery Coach Course.
“As recovery becomes a leading differentiator in the coaching industry, clients are increasingly seeking professionals who understand both the science of recovery and the principles of behaviour change,” says Lambe.
According to recent global data, nearly half of adults report regular sleep difficulties, and 80 per cent say they struggle to sleep at least once per week. Among those, roughly one-third report using sleep aids to manage rest.
The programme is designed to equip health and exercise professionals improve client outcomes by integrating sleep and recovery science into their coaching practices.
The course offers a behavioural, evidence-based approach to improving recovery, performance, and overall wellbeing by targeting the habits and environmental factors that influence sleep quality.
“Recovery is a foundational component of sustaining an active lifestyle and supporting overall well-being,” said CEO, Cedric Bryant. “The Sleep and Recovery Coach Course bridges the gap between sleep optimisation and behaviour-change coaching and advances our shared mission to help people move more and live healthier lives.”
The curriculum covers key areas including assessment and interpretation of sleep patterns and behaviorus to identify factors limiting recovery and performance; the science connecting sleep, training adaptation, metabolism, stress regulation and mental performance; behaviour-change coaching strategies to support sleep optimisation and restorative recovery practices.
