A very successful EKKA

Congratulations to everyone who delivered a successful and enjoyable EKKA 2008.
The show was well attended, due to near perfect weather from the 7th to 16th August.
The assistance from Queensland workplace healthy and safety was very well coordinated.
The new National Audit tool was used successfully and I am confident it made inspections easier.
There was a high emphasis on noise levels and the impact particularly as far as employees are concerned and monitoring was undertaken on a daily basis.
The department was placed in a difficult situation with regard to the media coverage regarding the Carousel not being at the Show this year. They are to be congratulated for their handling of the matter which was blown out of proportion. All media coverage of this situation was most inappropriate and damaging for both the government and our industry.
