ZigZag Xer-Dance platform users will soon be able to compare their scores with other users from across the globe thanks to a wireless tracking system.
The cards - an upgrade to the system's 'Pump It Up' software - will be unique to each person, with the dance mats recognising the user and then automatically sending data to an online portal for reference at any time.
Fergus Ahern, Managing Director of ZigZag says: "Dancers will each be given a card that can be carried in a pocket or clipped to clothing, much like a membership card.
Their individual information, including the frequency and length of exercise, along with steps taken, calories burned and scores achieved, will be routinely uploaded onto a dedicated Xer-Dance site."
In other news, a range of new chart songs have been licensed for 'Pump it Up' version 2.
