Gravity gives independent fitness club a better option
Dolphin Square Fitness Club in London's Pimlico caters to residents of the Dolphin Square apartments, the Dolphin House and local corporate and high end personal members.
When the club realised there was a demand from its clientele for Pilates classes using resistance apparatus, instead of filling a studio with Reformers it went for a more flexible but no less effective option. Now trainers can take members through the entire Reformer repertoire on their four Total Gym GTS machines, and when they're done they can fold them up and store them, leaving the studio free for another class.
As well as easing timetable requirements, the GRAVITY Training System on the Total Gym kit adds a multitude of new and exciting classes that keep members coming back for more. Best of all, the GRAVITY Pilates programming is just one application of the equipment - there are comprehensive group training modules in strength, conditioning and cardio as well as Personal Training and even GRAVITY Post rehab.
Working out with GRAVITY is functional. There are over 200 exercises designed to train every single muscle in the body. Instead of using springs for resistance, like a Reformer, the users own bodyweight is utilised via the moving glideboard. There are eight incline levels, with the pulleys and cables harnessing from 5 per cent to 59 per cent bodyweight as resistance. This gives each movement the ability to be progressed or regressed to suit any fitness level, and because a full body workout can be achieved on one machine a lot more can be achieved in one session – there's virtually no down time.
"The GRAVITY programming allows us to satisfy all our members' Pilates demands and gives us group training options we just didn’t have before," said Richard Comley, General Manager of Dolphin Square Fitness Club. "The training itself is fun and is generating a real buzz around the club, and the support we get from GRAVITY UK is exceptional. Definitely the right choice."
