GRAVITY training arrives in Scotland

Leisure trust Edinburgh Leisure have launched a GRAVITY studio in their Glenogle Swim Centre to become the first leisure trust in Scotland to offer GRAVITY classes on their timetable.

The centre has purchased six Total Gym GTS machines in order to offer the latest GRAVITY training classes. A GRAVITY class on the Total Gym works every muscle in the body from top to toe using the principle of body weight as resistance. A variable incline is controlled allowing virtually unlimited incremental adjustments from 5% to 59% of your body weight to cater for all abilities. Just one piece of kit facilitates over 200 exercises and you can move from a squat to a bicep curl in a matter of seconds. GRAVITY smart programming means less down time which equals greater results in a shorter time frame.

Edinburgh Leisure is a not-for-profit organisation which means that any surplus revenue generated is used to provide customers with high quality services and equipment. ‘We are really excited to be able to offer GRAVITY classes to our members,’ says Lorraine Young, Head of Health and Fitness at Edinburgh Leisure ‘Functional training and bodyweight workouts have become increasingly popular in Scotland and Edinburgh Leisure is committed to bringing the latest and most effective exercise methods to members.’

Glenogle Swim Centre will offer an impressive 18 classes each week ranging from 30 minute ‘Blast’ classes to one hour total body workout sessions. The timetable also includes five, 30-minute introductory sessions each week that are free to members wanting to try out this new method of training. ‘GRAVITY Classes have brought bodyweight training to Edinburgh in a whole new way’, says Young. ‘We are proud that Edinburgh Leisure is leading the way with this emerging trend in Scotland.’

Classes are £8 for members and leisure card holders and £10 for non members, visit www.edinburghleisure.co.uk or www.gravityuk.net
