Orbit4 launches X400 Challenge with high-energy National Fitness Day event at Macclesfield Leisure Centre

25 Sep 2025
Official launch of Orbit4's new X400 Challenge / Orbit4
Orbit4 marked the official launch of its new X400 Challenge with a dynamic, high-energy event at Macclesfield Leisure Centre in celebration of National Fitness Day. The live relay-style competition brought together eight teams from across the fitness sector, including operators and suppliers, to kick off a nationwide campaign aimed at fostering movement, camaraderie, and community spirit within the industry.

Participating teams included representatives from Orbit4, ATHX, Everybody Health & Leisure, Endurance Zone, Myzone, and Deadly Dozen. Their enthusiastic involvement reflected the inclusive and energetic ethos at the core of the X400 Challenge.

The challenge format featured teams of two to four participants completing eight physically demanding rounds—ranging from farmers carries and walking lunges to bear crawls and burpee broad jumps—interspersed with running segments, covering a total distance of 3.2km.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Participants praised the event for its intensity, team spirit, and sense of achievement, describing it as a “brutal but brilliant workout” and “a totally different way to test fitness.” Many also highlighted the event’s success in “bringing people together, building connections, and creating a buzz across the industry.”

Kev Forester, Business Development Manager at Orbit4, commented: “The launch of the X400 Challenge delivered exactly what we envisioned—energy, teamwork, and a true celebration of National Fitness Day. We’re thrilled to see gyms, suppliers, and fitness professionals across the UK and beyond embrace the challenge in the months ahead.”

The X400 Challenge campaign is now open for entries through 31 March 2026. Prizes include complimentary entry to an ATHX event, MyZone Switch Heart Rate Monitors, Built For Athletes Backpacks, Adidas Dropset trainers, and a £500 charity donation to each winning team’s chosen cause.

The launch event was made possible through the support of Everybody Health & Leisure and Deadly Dozen, with in-kind sponsorship from ATHX, MyZone, and Endurance Zone—underscoring the collaborative spirit at the heart of the initiative.
