£1.3m revamp of Winnal Moors completed
Winnal Moors nature reserve in Winchester has been reopened to the public following a £1.3m redevelopment of the area.
Work on the space has included the resurfacing of all paths and boardwalks to offer visitors easier access through the reserve's fen and riversides.
The moors are managed by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust (HIWT), which has relied on volunteers for a large amount of project.
Martin De Retuerto, HIWT'sp project manager, said: "We have designed the paths, signs and benches to accommodate those with mobility problems, pushchairs and wheelchairs.
"Often left out of the countryside by distance or terrain, we hope these people will enjoy exploring the moors and discovering the wildlife which flourishes there."
