CoverMe extends matching service to personal training, rewriting how members and personal trainers connect

Sixty per cent of members abandon PT when the booking process isn’t instant. CoverMe PT changes that. It’s engineered to make PT bookings happen automatically, at scale, across every club in your estate

CoverMe, the global leader in fitness workforce management, today launches CoverMe PT, an on-demand personal training platform that connects the right personal trainer to the right client in under 10 seconds.

At the centre of the launch is CoverMe’s AI matching engine. Built and refined over four years across millions of instructor-to-club matches, it now powers personal training too, learning from every booking, cancellation and session and getting smarter each time.

CoverMe PT is the second product on the platform, marking the company’s evolution into a multi-product operating system for the fitness industry. CoverMe works with major global fitness brands across four continents and will initially roll out CoverMe PT across the UK, US and Europe.

Rosanna Tucker, co-founder and CEO of CoverMe, says, "Personal training is the most commercially valuable line in any club, and the most operationally overlooked. The way most facilities sell PT hasn’t changed since the 1980s: trainers walking the gym floor, touting for business at reception and hoping to catch a member at the right moment.

“But members don’t want to be interrupted mid-workout to be sold to. They want to discover, choose and book PTs on their own terms, with the immediacy and energy of a social media platform.”

Attract and retain top PTs

CoverMe PT is set to be a game changer for operators in attracting and retaining personal trainers.

“Staggeringly, around 80 per cent of personal trainers drop out within their first year, and it’s not because they’re not good at their job. Often they’re simply not loud, super-confident gym-floor sellers, which is what the sector rewards,” says Tucker.

In an industry where PT turnover can reach as high as 50 per cent due to lack of clients, CoverMe PT provides stability, visibility of earnings and a consistent pipeline of opportunities, significantly improving retention while strengthening the overall quality and continuity of a club’s fitness offering.

“CoverMe PT allows PTs to focus on training people, not selling. Every new member, every welcome, is matched and booked in real-time. It’s on-demand, curated and frictionless, just the way Netflix, Uber and Airbnb taught a generation to expect everything else in their lives,” adds Tucker.

Boosting PT sales and member engagement

CoverMe PT is white-labelled and integrates seamlessly into existing member apps. The platform’s proven AI matching engine analyses each member’s goals, availability and confidence level against personal trainer specialisms in real-time.

Data from early pilots shows remarkable results:

  • 40 per cent uplift in first-time PT bookings
  • 25 per cent boost in member engagement through early induction nudges
  • 21 per cent revenue increase through group session conversion
  • Booking completed in under 10 seconds
  • PT onboarding in under six minutes; live, matched and earning.

Beverlee Browne, co-founder and CPO of CoverMe says: “Most member churn happens in the first 90 days when those who don’t feel immediate value leave. But members who book a PT session in their first 14 days are up to 60 per cent more likely to stay beyond 90 days. However, 60 per cent of members abandon PT when the booking process isn’t instant. CoverMe PT changes that. It’s engineered to make PT bookings happen automatically, at scale, across every club in your estate.”

A frictionless experience

For members, there are no awkward gym-floor pitches. They open the app, set a goal, get matched, book and pay in under 10 seconds.

For personal trainers, CoverMe PT delivers new clients, manages diaries and handles payments and reminders automatically. PTs spend their time training, not selling.

For operators, CoverMe PT is built to flex around every commercial model, whether personal trainers are employed, on paid shifts, self-employed or on a rental model. It offers automatic compliance verification for every personal trainer, real-time member demand visibility, business reporting on member booking conversions, member retention and onboarding impact.

Where personal trainers are employed or working paid shifts, operators also get intelligent shift allocation, revenue tracking and session management. Permissions and reporting are configured to respect each operator’s commercial setup and the IR35 status of every personal trainer.

“We've spent four years inside the operations of some of the biggest fitness brands in the world. We know exactly what breaks, where revenue leaks and what operators need from a platform,” adds Browne. “CoverMe PT was built from that knowledge. It’s the product the industry has been asking us for.”

Early adopter offer

Operators committing to a full rollout within 30 days of trial completion will receive 15 per cent off Year One. To book a product demonstration, contact [email protected].
