The White Horses Spa has opened at the Doonbeg Golf Club in County Clare, Ireland.
Covering 3,500sq ft (325sq m), the construction of the garden-level spa began in late 2004.
The spa features four treatment rooms; a gym and a wet area including a sauna, steamroom, deep soaking tubs, garden and spa pool.
Treatments have been inspired by the sea and include massages and facials, reflexology, Swedish massage, basalt stone therapy – a thermal massage drawing on nature’s four elements – and manicures.
The design was masterminded by Clodagh Design International while spa consultant Kim Matheson was also involved with the construction process.
The spa’s interior is intended to capture the feel of a Georgian country home, with warm light and earth tones. Details: www.doonbeggolfclub.com
