United resubmit hotel application
Sheffield United has resubmitted its planning application for a four-star hotel next door to its Bramall Lane stadium.
The restaurant and bar will now be built on the ground floor; the nonresident dining areas will be larger; the number of bedrooms will increase by nine to 158; and more windows will be incorporated to increase the amount of light and visibility.
It is hoped that Sheffield City Council will pass the new application in May, so that work can start during the summer.
Sheffield United’s head of leisure, Simon Argall, said: “The additions will considerably enhance not only the look of the hotel, but the number of facilities available for residents and local people.”
Millennium & Copthorne Hotels will operate the hotel.
