Construction work is continuing on the new luxury resort, casino and spa at the centre of the CityCenter mega-development in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.
Called ARIA, work on the 61-storey high resort and spa is expected to be completed in late 2009.
Designed by architecture firm Pelli Clarke Pelli, the property is intended to introduce a ‘new generation of resort experiences’ to Las Vegas.
The spa at ARIA will offer a menu of skincare, massage and hydrotherapy treatments. It will have 62 individual treatment rooms, as well as three suites.
Formerly the City Center hotel and Casino, CityCenter is a joint venture between MGM Mirage and Dubai World.
The US$8bn (£4bn, 5bn euro) mixed-use development is being built on 76 acres along the Las Vegas Strip between the Bellagio and Monte Carlo resorts. Other attractions will include The Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas resort, a 57-floor ebony tower called Vdara Condo Hotel, designed by RV Architects, LLC led by Rafael Viñoly and a retail and entertainment district designed by Studio Daniel Libeskind called The Crystals.
