St. Regis first for Jordan

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is to debut its St Regis brand in Jordan with the opening in 2014 of The St. Regis Amman and The Residences at St. Regis Amman.
The new hotel, owned by Al Maabar Abdoun Real Estate Development, a wholly owned subsidiary of Al Maabar International Investments Abu Dhabi, will be among five St. Regis openings in the Middle East scheduled for the coming years, including properties in Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The New York-based Perkins Eastman Architects-designed St. Regis Amman will offer 270 rooms, including 91 suites; four restaurants; a café; destination bar; pool and pool bar; fitness centre; signature spa, and the St. Regis butler service.
Also available will be more than 30,000sq ft (2,787sq m) of meeting and event space, as well as a business center. The Residences at St. Regis Amman will include around 80 branded luxury apartments featuring two-, three-, four- and five-bedrooms as well as a dedicated lobby, pool, fitness centre and lounge.
Starwood already has a presence in Jordan, where it currently manages both Sheraton and Le Meridien hotels and has a further three properties in the pipeline.
