Sportech secures US$83m SGR acquisition

SGR, the racing and venue management division of US-based Scientific Games Corporation, has been acquired by the UK football pools operator, Sportech, in a deal worth US$83m (£51m, €59m).
An initial payment US$65m (£40m, €46m) will be made to Scientific Games Corporation, which will take a 19.9 per cent stake in an enlarged Sportech along with UK-based online gaming software provider Playtech with 10 per cent.
