Seven sports battle for Olympic inclusion
Rugby union, golf and squash are among seven sports that have officially presented their case to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to be included in the 2016 Olympic Games.
Karate, roller sports, softball and baseball are also applying for the two available programme slots at the 2016 Games, with a final decision expected to be made by the IOC in October. IOC president Jacques Rogge said: "All seven sports made interesting and informative presentations. All have something to offer. In the end, the decision will come down to which are the best fit for the Olympic Programme."
The host of the 2016 Games will also be announced in October, with Chicago, US; Madrid, Spain; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Tokyo, Japan all in contention.
