The report was supported by the Spa Business Association and Spa Source and is intended to establish benchmarks and a commentary from which to gauge the movement and potential of the UK spa sector.
The report was undertaken by the Leisure Database Company in partnership with SPATEC and revealed that UK consumers make an estimated six million visits a year to spas throughout Britain.
There are approximately 4,570 therapists currently employed across the 402 UK spas. The largest sub-sector was hotel spas, accounting for 41 per cent of the market share.
