S&N Pub Enterprises launches training programme
S&N Pub Enterprises (S&NPE) has launched a training initiative designed to develop the position of its operations and sales managers (OSM).
The three-pronged programme includes a business consultancy training programme, Going for Growth supported by regular market insight reports for all OSMs, as well as a trainee OSM role - business development executives or BDE, aimed at attracting 'bright and ambitious graduates'.
Martyn Gray, commercial director, said: 'The pub industry has changed dramatically in the last 15 years and is much more sophisticated, with customers demanding much higher levels of service.
'Competition on all sides has grown - from the managed pub to the increase in serious, experienced freeholders, as well as from the rise in a wide range of other leisure activities competing for customers. And of course, there are a lot more complex legislations to get to grips with.'
Continues Gray, 'This latest approach, with input from the Henley Business Centre, will take the role of the OSM one step further in the pub industry and is further evidence of our ongoing commitment to develop our pubs and people.
'Our goal is to provide the highest calibre of OSM's who will offer lessees the best business consultancy, in order to improve our lessees' business performance and profitability.'
S&N Pub Enterprises says the workshop based, the week-long 'Go for Growth' course, which is aimed at all operation personnel, provides OSMs with the opportunity to develop their own ideas and strategies. Details: www.pub-enterprises.co.uk
