Radisson Blu Monastir to offer destination spa
The Rezidor Hotel Group has opened the newly rebranded 280-room Radisson Blu Resort and Thalasso in Monastir, Tunisia.
Situated on a five-hectare beachfront site facing the Gulf of Hammamet on the Mediterranean Sea, it is the second Radisson Blu resort in Tunisia, joining an existing one in Djerba. Accommodation include 264 guestrooms, 14 junior suites and 2 senior suites, all equipped with complimentary high-speed internet access and a private balcony or terrace overlooking the pool area and sea.
The resort's 150,000sq ft (13,935sq m) Royal Elyssa Spa Cinq Mondes and Thalasso will feature a 48,000sq ft (4,459sq m) Thal'ion Thalasso centre, specialising in restorative treatments using seawater, and a 43,000sq ft (3,994sq m) Cinq Mondes Spa. The facility is scheduled to open in early 2010, and will also provide a I'Usine fitness club and an Eric Zemmour hairdressing salon. The Spa & Thalasso will offer guests saunas, hammams, treatment rooms and food and beverage outlets. The top floor of the spa will feature 20 unique spa suites, ranging from 750 to 2,700sq ft (69.6sq m to 250.8sq m), many with private jacuzzis and beauty treatment rooms.
Resort amenities include three restaurants, six bars and lounges, several indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fitness centre and athletic facilities such as tennis, beach volleyball, water polo, aerobics, jet skiing, water skiing and canoeing. Also available are three meeting rooms and a 4,300sq ft (399sq m) ballroom. A range of tented enclosures can be erected on the grounds for outdoor events, and a garden area can accommodate 600-800 guests.
The town of Monastir is two and a half miles (4km) from the resort, which is approximately four miles (6.4km) from the Marina Cap Monastir and about three miles (4.8km) from the Flamingo and Palm Links golf courses.
