RDC launches leisure/recreation consultation

Ryedale District Council (RDC) has announced the start of a public consultation in order to gather views on local open space, sport and recreation facilities.
Due to run until 31 March, the consultation aims to combat a "sedentary lifestyle trend", as well as increasing participation ahead of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. RDC chair and champion for sport Tony Hemesley said: "The council wants to enable everybody in the Ryedale area to participate in either formal sports or to lead a more active lifestyle."
