Pennyhill Park spa to open this summer
The second phase of the project to transform an award-winning UK hotel into a destination spa is due to open by the end of the summer.
Pennyhill Park Hotel in Surrey, named AA Hotel of the Year in 2002, will be the largest destination spa in the UK once the 45,000sq ft spa is complete.Phase one of the £5m facility, developed in conjunction with spa consultants, the Leisure Buro, is already open. It features 11 therapy suites with heated floors and walk-in showers, offering a range of massages, facials and body treatments.
All treatments use products from Australian company Li'Tya, using natural aboriginal ingredients which will be exclusive to Pennyhill Park in the UK. The signature treatment is The Dreaming, which combines aboriginal massage techniques with body, face and hair masks; hand and foot treatments and a full-body exfoliation.
Other facilities already open include a relaxation room and a fully-equipped gym designed in conjunction with the British rugby team.Phase two, due for completion this summer, will include aromatherapy-infused thermal steamrooms, saunas, an ice room, a hydrotherapy pool and three sensory suites. There will also be a VIP suite where guests can receive personalised treatments.
As well as catering for residential guests, the spa offers a select membership, costing £2,500 a year with a joining fee of £2,000. Membership for couples is also available, as is lifetime membership, which can be passed on once to a family member or friend.Set in 120 acres of landscaped parkland, Pennyhill Park is just 27 miles from London.
