Orkney Island, off the coast of Scotland, has received funding for three separate redevelopment projects.
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded the island investment of £2.8m, including Stage One passes for two major projects – a Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) in Stromness, and a Landscape Partnership Scheme for Scapa Flow.
The third project, to help establish the Orkney Boat Museum, has received a Project Planning grant of £46,400.
The Scapa Flow project is led by Orkney Islands Council, with support from Scottish Natural Heritage, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and Highlands and Islands Enterprise Orkney.
