New spa sculptured in the north east
Sculptures Spa, a specialised luxury spa, opened last month in Bishop Auckland, Durham.
The 3,000sq ft facility, run by a husband and wife team, includes eight fully air conditioned therapy rooms, a dual treatment room for couples, a balneotherapy bath, high powered water jet massages, hot stone treatments, mud and seaweed wraps and a Biarritz foot spa.
Sculptures, located off Kingsway in the town centre, also provides technology which offers visitors the chance to assess their life style, and what – if any – changes they should consider to improve their fitness.
Heather Reilly, director, said: “people can have a ‘human MOT’, where lung capacity, body composition, blood pressure and a number of other factors are measured. We will then use the figures to help customers see how their health will be in five years time if they don’t make any changes.”
An extensive retail area, with both men and women's skin care and beauty products, offers a range of products from brands such as Pevonia Botanica, St Tropez and Royal Effem.
The company plans to expand, hoping to introduce a further four Sculptures spa’s to the area and is currently considering locations with the view of opening its second outlet before the end of the year. Details: www.sculpturesspa.co.uk
