New Biggin Hill swimming pool unveiled
Charitable leisure trust Mytime Active and Bromley Council have opened a new swimming pool and library complex in Biggin Hill, south east London.
Among the facilities at the Biggin Hill Memorial Library and Pool is a six-lane, 25m swimming pool; community meeting and party rooms; a library; changing rooms and a MyCafé. Mytime Active was established in 2004 to manage a number of local leisure facilities on behalf of Bromley Council, with the new Biggin Hill venue set to host the trust's Swimming Academy.
Bromley Council leader Stephen Carr said: "We are delivering on our commitment to build a better Bromley by investing £5.1m in this fantastic new centre, the first new public building in this part of the borough for many years." Mytime Active chair Dennis Barkway added: "We'll be encouraging everyone to try out the pool and build links with local schools and groups."
