National Trust recreates Cliveden maze
The National Trust (NT) has announced that it has completed work on a two-year scheme to recreate a 'lost' maze at Cliveden near Maidenhead, Buckinghamshire.
Based on a maze originally built for Lord Astor in 1894, maintenance on the facility stopped during the mid-1900s but has now been restored using more than 1,000 yew trees. Cliveden head gardener Andrew Mudge said: "Once we found the old plans in 2005 we just felt compelled to recreate it. It took a lot of research and planning to firstly draw out the plans, and to prepare the ground."
