NTS announces HQ disposal
The National Trust for Scotland (NTS) has confirmed that it has sold its headquarters at Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, to investment company Fordell Estates.
It is expected that the deal will enable the trust to continue its attempts to reduce costs and make more funds available for conservation work to protect Scotland's heritage. NTS chief executive Kate Mavor said: "We want to ensure that our precious resources are put to the best possible use - protecting and preserving some of Scotland's most important cultural and natural heritage."
It is estimated that NTS will move to its new base at Hermiston Quay in west Edinburgh in October 2010.
