Monkeying around with Innovative Leisure
Interactive attractions specialist Innovative Leisure has installed a new adventure course at Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland.
Located adjacent to the £6m Budongo Trail chimpanzee outdoor area, the 80m-long Sky Trail® Discovery ropes course has a unique track system and offers a 'chimp's-eye view' of the enclosure.
The first installation of its type to be completed by Innovative Leisure at a UK zoo, the trail features outdoor wilderness-style colours as well as materials such as hessian rope and cedar wood.
Able to take a total of 25 participants at any one time at a minimum height of 1.1m, the trail can be used by up to 100 people an hour. It is also approved under ADIPS and over 600 have been supplied worldwide.
Innovative Leisure's Managing Director Phil Pickersgill said: "We were delighted to have the opportunity to install our first major high ropes course in such a prestigious location. Having it right next to the chimpanzee enclosure further adds to the experience and is obviously highly appropriate."
Edinburgh Zoo's Commercial Director Gary Wilson, added: "It is very positive for the zoo to have this type of play equipment beside a chimpanzee enclosure. The chimps also seem to be very interested in all that is going on and look to be stimulated by the experience as well as all who have a go on it."
The new Sky Trail® Discovery is one of a range of major high ropes courses suitable for a wide range of leisure facilities offered by Innovative Leisure, which distributes in the UK on behalf of US manufacturer Ropes Courses, Inc.
