Middlesbrough Council unveils new play area
Middlesbrough Council has officially unveiled a new £63,000 play area at Netherfields Community Centre, which has been designed for people aged between two and 14 years old.
The Department for Education provided £44,5000 towards the scheme, which was designed and built by the local authority and features a new basket swing, a cableway and a climbing unit. Opened by Middlesbrough mayor Ray Mallon on 23 August, the facility was also part-funded by the Healthy Town Programme (£11,500) and the Stronger Together East Middlesbrough Partnership (STEM) (£7,000).
STEM, Netherfields Community Centre management committee and Beckfield Community Council funded the installation of CCTV at the site.
