Luxury tented spa opens in Thai Golden Triangle
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts opened its third property in Thailand this month, a tented camp located in the heart of the jungle and accessible only by Long Tail boat down the Ruak River.
Located in the Golden Triangle area where the borders of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet, the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle boasts 15 luxury air-conditioned tents designed by Bangkok-based Bensley Design and a maximum capacity of 30 guests.
The camp is bisected by the San Valley and an 80m (262ft) long suspension bridge allows guests access to the property’s spa on the other side. The facility boasts two open-air salas – spa pavilions – featuring double treatment rooms, leather spa beds and bath and shower areas.
Treatments on offer, available either at the spa or in a guest’s tent, include traditional Thai massage and meditation.
Further facilities at the camp include a yoga pavilion, a free form swimming pool and a whirlpool, the Nong Yao Restaurant, the Burma Bar, a library, and a wine cellar and separate wine tasting room.
Activities for guests vary from elephant experiences and jungle treks to temple tours and cooking classes.
Operated by Four Seasons, investors in the Golden Triangle Camp include the Baan Boran Chiang Rai Company.
Four Seasons also operates the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Rai and Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok in Thailand. Details: www.fourseasons.com/goldentriangle
