Local authority unveils Rotherham play areas
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) has opened a number of new playgrounds at sites across the South Yorkshire borough as part of the Play Pathfinder programme.
The first of the new sites were opened at Rosehill Park, Rawmarsh, and at Aston on 9 July, followed by Wickersley on 10 July. A new facility has also been launched at Old Aughton Recreation Ground in Aughton (16 July). A fifth new play area - at Limetree Community Park in Maltby - is due to be officially opened on 24 July by local MP Kevin Barron and Rotherham mayor Rose McNeely.
The Play Pathfinder programme has seen 30 local play areas improved over the past two years. A new adventure playground scheduled to open at Eastwood later this year.
