Ishga honoured with visit from princess Anne of the British royal family
Luxury Hebridean organic spa brand Ishga recently had the honour of hosting her royal highness, princess Anne, at its headquarters on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland.
The royal visit was part of a broader programme of community engagements across the Western Isles and offered Ishga the chance to showcase its business growth.
During her visit, princess Anne was warmly received by the brand's co-founders Malcolm Macrae, Joanna Macrae, Martin Macleod, Evelyn Macleod and director Leon Trayling in the newly refurbished reception area at the company’s two-story premises in Glenn Seileach Business Park, Stornoway.
The tour featured a deep dive into the island's seaweed heritage, emphasising its skincare benefits and the sustainable harvesting methods Ishga employs to source this key ingredient from the pristine waters surrounding the Hebrides.
The princess royal also explored Ishga’s manufacturing process, where she observed the production of the brand's products. Notably, she contributed to the creation of a batch of Ishga’s signature Anti-oxidant Marine Cream by adding the brand’s distinctive seaweed extract.
In addition to the production tour, the princess was introduced to Ishga’s luxury candle collection, crafted in collaboration with The Dorchester hotel, as well as a special oil created in partnership with Coworth Park to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
“What an honour for the princess royal to visit Isgha’s headquarters,” said Malcolm Macrae.
“It was a true highlight for the team. Huge thanks to His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Western Isles, Mr Iain Macaulay for making this visit possible.”
