Heart of England beach appeal rejected
Plans for the retention of an inland beach at Heart Park, Warwickshire, have been rejected after a three-day planning hearing.
Permission had been originally granted for a new lake and wetland area, but the site owner also constructed a large beach that was operated as a theme park attraction. North Warwickshire Borough Council rejected a bid to retain the beach, prompting Heart of England Promotions to appeal to the secretary of state against the decision.
That appeal has now been rejected, with the local authority serving notices for the removal of the beach, as well as the cessation of paintball and motor sports in woodland at the site.
