Health clubs upbeat over 2010 results
The International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) has announced the results of its November and December Monthly Trends Surveys.
Survey results show that most IHRSA members taking part in the survey, representing more than 300 locations, significantly improved performance in 2010 when compared with 2009.
More than half (53.9 per cent) of clubs saw membership traffic increase during 2010, while nearly two-thirds (66.3 percent) of responding clubs posted increased total revenue.
Jay Ablondi, executive vice president of global products at IHRSA, said: "With the economy posting positive growth in the fourth quarter, these leading clubs saw improved business conditions."
